Birthday Necklace
I love to make jewelry and making jewelry for gifts. I recently made a necklace for my darling niece Taylor. She has been asking for a necklace that resembled one I had made a while back and she loved the teal beads I used. So I made the necklace below for her 12th birthday. I couldn't get her to model it for me though.
Book review of The Winter Sea
So since my blog is about books among other things, I thought I would write about one of the best books I have read recently, Winter Sea by Susanna Kearsley.
Synopsis: In the spring of 1708, an invading Jacobite fleet of French and Scottish soldiers nearly succeeded in landing the exiled James Stewart in Scotland to reclaim his crown.
Now, Carrie McClelland hopes to turn that story into her next bestselling novel. Settling herself in the shadow of Slains Castle, she creates a heroine named for one of her own ancestors and starts to write.
But when she discovers her novel is more fact than fiction, Carrie wonders if she might be dealing with ancestral memory, making her the only living person who knows the truth-the ultimate betrayal-that happened all those years ago, and that knowledge comes very close to destroying her...
My review: I really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed how the two story lines were woven together. I.got very wrapped up in the story and I could not wait to read more.. To me that is a sign of a good book. This book also has a time travel element to it. The love story was sweet with a great surprise ending. There is also a plug for genealogy work and it mentions the the vast resources the LDS church has, which I thought was cool. If you are looking for a good read, look no further.
